New Classes and Timetable

Frequently Asked Questions

WHEN WILL THE NEW TIMETABLE START

The new timetable and all associated changes will start from 1st November 2025.

We hope to be able to start our Tower classes from mid-November, however this is very much dependent on factors outside of our control such as delivery and installation happening on schedule. Class will go live once all of the Towers have been installed by our trusted installer and safely tested by us. For now I have provisionally entered them into the timetable from 15th November and I will open up bookings once I have greater confidence of meeting this planned date.

WHAT PASSES DO I NEED FOR MY CLASSES

We are keeping it simple and keeping our two different pass types for group classes:

Group Apparatus Class Pass: You will be able to use your group apparatus class pass for BOTH Group Reformer and Group Tower classes. Available as a “drop in” pass or 4 class pass

Group Mat Class Pass: Our group mat class pass will be valid for all our mat classes, including Group Pilates Mat, Pilates for Pregnancy Mat Class, Postnatal Pilates Mat Class and Postnatal Progressions Pilates Mat Class. Available as a “drop in” pass or 6 class pass

If you have a membership your usual member benefits will apply.

MY USUAL REFORMER CLASS IS FULL AND THERE ARE NO OTHER CLASS TIMES I CAN ATTEND - WHAT CAN I DO?

From 1st November all of our Group Reformer classes will have a maximum of 4 people per class. This is a reduction on the current maximum of 5 persons in some classes. We are making this change because we believe it will result in a better quality of class and teaching for all class members. With new classes coming to the timetable we hope that there will still be plenty of spaces for everyone across our group class offering.

I know that some of you have very restricted availability due to commitments such as work and childcare. From 1st November, if a Group Reformer class is full and there is truly no other class you can attend that week in its place please text or email Gina. Depending on the class, we may be able to open up an additional space in the class for you to work on our Wunda Chair and Cadillac. You will need to be semi-independent in that you are confident working on these apparatus as we flow through the class, under the guidance of your class teacher. This is intended to be used as an emergency option for clients who are unable to attend any other classes, so that you can still stay consistent in your Pilates practice each week. You must message Gina to request a space, and your space will only be confirmed upon receipt of a booking confirmation.

If your usual Group Reformer class is full why not drop into a Tower class instead (see below).

WHAT IS A TOWER CLASS

The Tower is essentially an adaptation of the Pilates Cadillac, that allows it to fit into smaller spaces. It is a large metal frame to which various springs and accessories can be attached such as leg springs, arm springs, a roll back bar and a push through bar. A Classical mat sits in front of the Tower. The different springs and attachments are used in your exercises to give you support and feedback, and challenge you to work your body in different ways than you can do on the mat alone.

A Tower workout feels different to a Reformer workout. Both will get you working hard in different ways. The Tower has a much more focussed feel, perhaps a more controlled pace but with deeper focus on connecting deeply into your body and your muscles.

Tower classes are a nice starting point into apparatus for those who are interested in apparatus work but feel a little daunted by the moving carriage of the Reformer. They are also excellent for those who already attend Reformer classes and want to challenge their strength and connections. You will notice a big improvement in your work on the Reformer when you combine it with the work on the Tower. The Tower exercises range from simple movements to find connections, to much more advanced and complex exercises so there really is something for everyone.

DO I NEED AN INDUCTION TO JOIN TOWER CLASSES?

If you already work in the apparatus studio, either in group classes or private sessions, you will not need any additional induction to join the Tower classes. You can simply book and come along.

If you are new to apparatus work, you will need to complete a minimum of 2x 1:1 induction sessions to join any of our apparatus classes, including Tower classes.

  • New clients to Be:Poised Pilates can take advantage of our Full Studio Induction Package, offering significant savings and the ability to pay in 2 instalments.

  • Existing clients Until 31st December 2025 I am offering a 20% discount that can be used for upto 2x 1:1 Drop in Passes; enabling you to complete your required induction sessions at a reduced rate. To redeem purchase your 1:1 drop in passes via BSport using code INDUCTION25 or get in touch.

To arrange an induction easiest thing to do is to get in touch and we will work with you to fit you in on a day and time that works for you.

WHAT LEVEL TOWER CLASS SHOULD I JOIN?

To start with, all of our Tower classes will be listed as All Levels classes, whilst we get a feel for who is booking into which class and how everyone is working. We want to ensure that everyone has mastered the Foundations on the Tower before moving onto more challenging work, so in every class we will start with the foundations and work from there. Just as on the mat and Reformer, each exercise builds on the movements and connections you have established at the previous level.

Your teacher will tailor the individual class based on those who are attending and their needs. In some classes we may move at a more controlled pace to give you time to find the movement and establish the technique, in other classes we may add a few extra progressions and challenges for those who are ready for it.

Over time we will start to get a feel for the general level of each class and by the end of the year we may decide to bring in set levels for each class. We will also have at least one new Foundations classes coming to the timetable in the new year so that there will always be something for everyone.

A note on class levels: Remember, class levels aren’t a race or a badge of honour. All of the work is challenging and every class will challenge your body. It is about finding the pace and focus that is right for your body and trying to match groups of people with similar needs so that you can get the most from your practice. We start to introduce new exercises to the group as and when you are ready, and overtime we might realise that a group is routinely doing more of the next level exercises and thus change the group level description for that class. This happens over many months or more.
