THE MAT WORK
WHAT IS CLASSICAL PILATES MATWORK?
Pilates Mat work is sometimes overshadowed by the intrigue of the apparatus,, but done properly Classical Pilates mat work is a challenging and exciting part of the Pilates method.
On the mat there is just you and your body - no springs or apparatus to assist you. Here we put everything we have learned in the apparatus studio to the test, finding your strength and control on the mat.
WHO IS IT FOR?
Just like the rest of the system, Pilates mat work is for everyone.
Some of our clients will attend mat classes alongside their apparatus classes. Others will attend mat classes as their main Pilates practice, as mat classes represent the most budget friendly option within the Pilates studio.
As well as our Classical Pilates Mat Classes we also run specialist Pilates for Pregnancy and Postnatal Pilates mat classes at our studio.
However you join us, you will be warmly welcomed into class as you move and challenge your body; deepening the mind-body connection as you build greater strength, mobility and control.
