    Gina Craig - Studio Owner

Gina is the founder and owner of Be:Poised Pilates. Gina teaches a busy schedule of mat, apparatus and 1:1 classes in the studio. She is also one of our resident women's wellbeing specialists, with a wealth of training and experience in areas including pregnancy, postnatal, endometriosis and peri-post menopause and post-surgical breast cancer exercise (Pink Ribbon Programme).

Gina has a dance background; having trained vocationally at both Elmhurst Ballet School and The Urdang Academy. Her background gives her an excellent eye for detail and understanding of how the body moves. Her love for Pilates began when she discovered it to be a great way to help manage aches and pains associated with old dance injuries, as well as helping to manage some of the symptoms associated with her endometriosis. She is passionate about sharing the method with others to help keep them moving and feeling well.

Gina holds a full comprehensive Pilates teaching certification from JPilates, and in 2025 embarked on further in depth comprehensive study of the Classical method with 2nd Generation Master Trainer Amy Kellow, studying the Classical method as passed down from 1st generation teacher Jay Grimes. Gina’s training history also incorporates more contemporary Pilates elements from her early training and work with special populations.

Gina draws from her broad training and experience to help make Pilates accessible to all, including those with specific needs. In addition to women’s health, Gina's specialist training also includes Pilates for osteoporosis, scoliosis, exercise for older adults, and working with common orthopaedic conditions such as joint replacements and injuries.

Gina teaches group apparatus and mat classes at the studio as well as private 1:1 sessions. As a teacher, Gina has a supportive and encouraging approach. She gets to know her clients and will encourage you every step of the way to find those little adjustments that make the work SO good for you!

    Nadine Allen - Studio Teacher

Nadine joined us as a Studio Teacher in November 2024. She teaches group mat and group apparatus classes for us in the studio, as well as being available for 1:1 sessions.

Nadine has a classical ballet background, having studied at the Royal Ballet School and worked in the English National Ballet Company. Her background gives her a keen eye for detail and a wonderful appreciation of the workings and capabilities of the human body, which she applies beautifully to her Pilates teaching.

Nadine honed her skills teaching at a well established and respected Classical Pilates Studio and brings this experience with her to our studio. Her Classical Pilates training gives her an in depth insight into the Pilates system and the benefits it offers. In addition she has recently commenced a comprehensive bridging certification with 2nd Generation Master Trainer Amy Kellow and is looking forward to further deepening her knowledge of the Classical System.

Nadine is a wonderful addition to the studio. Her gentle supportive nature, coupled with a deep respect for the Pilates method, make her a great fit for our team and we are so glad to have her on board.

    Lauren Handley - Studio Teacher

Lauren joined our teaching team in the summer 2025. She has a rich background in dance and trained at London Studio Centre; her early career was dedicated to performance, but following a knee injury and subsequent surgery, she discovered Pilates as part of her rehabilitation. The method not only supported her recovery but sparked a new passion for movement and wellbeing. Lauren also went on to complete a Master’s degree in Dance Studies at the University of Roehampton. This academic foundation enriches her teaching with a deeper understanding of human movement.

Lauren began with us at Be:Poised Pilates as a client, before embarking on her teacher training journey. Lauren holds a level 3 qualification in Pilates matwork and is a qualified pregnancy and postnatal Pilates teacher. She is a core part of our pre&postnatal specialty team and is trained to teach this population across the mat and apparatus, having trained with internationally renowned Carolyne Anthony Method and Burrell Education. She is currently deepening her Classical Pilates teacher training across the full Pilates system with 2nd Generation Teacher Amy Kellow and her expert training team at Everybody Pilates Education. Lauren’s ongoing training and development is supported by us at Be:Poised Pilates through ongoing mentorship and support, and we are simply loving watching her blossom into a knowledgeable and popular Pilates teacher..

In the studio, Lauren has a thoughtful and encouraging presence and keen eye for detail. She works closely with clients to help them find clarity in movement, build strength, and feel empowered in their bodies. Whether you're new to Pilates, an experienced practitioner or returning after time away, Lauren will meet you where you are — and help you build confidence

COVER AND GUEST TEACHERS

As with any form of exercise, consistency is key. We want to make sure your classes keep running, even when your studio teachers are poorly or away. That is why we have cover teachers available to step in where needed. Our cover teachers are held to the same high professional standard as our studio teachers, and are invited to regularly participate in classes or teacher sessions with us to ensure they are familiar with our teaching and how we work in the studio.

  • Phoebe Affleck

Phoebe is a regular face at the studios as she regularly attends our classes as part of her own self practice and development. Phoebe is a qualified Pilates mat teacher with LPA and is committed to developing a deeper understanding of Pilates, particularly within the Classical method.

Phoebe helps to support the smooth running of our studio timetable by stepping in to teach mat classes as needed when our Studio Teachers are away on holiday or training.

  • Studio Cover Teacher Corri with dark hair wearing a red sweater smiling outdoors near a beach with a surfboard in the background under a blue sky.

    Corri Noone

Corri started her Pilates training within the Classical roots and has gone on to complete her certifications in teaching mat and Reformer.

Corri runs her own Pilates teaching business from her home and in the community, and is part of our cover team available to help us out when needed to cover classes.

    Samantha Adams

Samantha works as The South Downs Doula, supporting women and their families through pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period. She is also trained in Biomechanics for Birth and KGHypnobirthing. She passionately believes that every woman deserves to be heard, held and lovingly supported through all aspects of becoming a mother.

We are so pleased to have Samantha on board as a Guest Speaker and collaborator. She has delivered some wonderful taster talks as part of our Pilates for Pregnancy offering. Sam and Gina have worked closely together to create our special Biomechanics for Birth Workshop that runs on select dates in the year (see Workshops and Events for details)

A BEAUTIFUL STUDIO PARTNERSHIP

The Pilates Studios at Lavant House are home to two fantastic Pilates businesses; Be:Poised Pilates and Pilates With Claire. The studios are a collaborative effort between Gina and Claire to create a Pilates haven in the West Sussex countryside. A shared space for the two businesses, in which to build a welcoming Pilates community centred on high quality Pilates teaching and a client centred approach. You will often see both of us around the studios as we share the space, and we often work collaboratively on our workshops and events programme as well as general studio developments. Gina’s Classical training and Claire’s BASI & clinical rehabilitation background mean that we have much to share with each other. We love nothing more than being able to snatch some time in the apparatus studio together, to teach each other and share our ideas and knowledge. We are all about community, and our shared studio is the perfect example of Pilates community in action.
